Shantung
Shantung is a type of silk which historically came from the chinese province of Shandong. Shantung fabrics are known for their characteristic irregularities. Despite the slubby, irregular texture, shantung fabrics are considered to be among the finest silk qualities. We source our Shantung silk fabrics from two of the top producers in the Como region, Italy.
Our comment
With its special, rough charachter this tie goes well with a jacket and trousers but also with suits in more rough material. The light construction gives it a nice non-clumsy drape. Match it with a pocket square that picks up a color from the tie or your shirt to get that extra touch. We strongly recommend the four-in-hand knot.
